HAO / Holm Architecture Office is an international design collective founded in 2010 by Danish architect Jens Holm.

HAO focuses on creating strong working collaborations with clients and designers through an open and inclusive design process. We believe that collaboration on all levels of the design process leads to exciting ideas and strong projects.

HAO is a multidisciplinary office that works collaboratively with an array of professional fields, allowing us to examine new ways of thinking and implementing design. We believe in the mix, both in our work and in the people we collaborate with.

HAO is currently working in the US, China and Europe on projects ranging in scale from art installations to city planning. HAO recently won the competition to design the Samaranch Memorial Museum in Tianjin, the Qingdao Master Plan in Qingdao and the competition to re-design the Coleman Oval Park and Skate Park in Manhattan, New York.

Prior to founding HAO, Jens worked for several years as a lead architect with Rem Koolhaas and OMA / Office for Metropolitan Architecture in OMA’s Rotterdam and New York offices and with Rockwell Group Architecture, Planning and Design in New York.

With OMA, Jens helped to develop and design such key projects as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Casa de Musica in Portugal, and the Universal Headquarters in Los Angeles. In addition, Jens worked extensively with OMA’s research studio, AMO, on branding and research projects such as the re-positioning of the Wired Magazine and the Dallas Performing Arts Center as well as the stage set for the play “Big Love”.

With Rockwell Group, Jens lead the effort to build Rockwell Group’s architectural and research branch overseeing projects such as the new Master Plan for Coney Island, the Hudson Yards Culture Shed, Danny Meyer’s “Untitled” café at the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Hall of Fragments exhibition at the Venice Biennale in 2008.
